Comment on new draft policy

The national Department of Social Development has released its latest child care and protection draft policy for public scrutiny and comment.

However, with the deadline for submissions on Thursday January 25, the Child Protection Collaborative(CPC)has organised a three-hour public discussion workshop on Monday January 22 from 12.30pm at the Novalis Ubuntu Institute, in Rosmead Avenue, Wynberg.

CPC is a civil society child protection movement which is made up of representative practitioners and professionals from various entities.

All organisations and NGOs who have the care and protection of children as part of their objectives, are invited to attend this free event.

For a copy of the draft policy and to register to attend the workshop, email childprotection or WhatsApp 083 701 7012.

Speaking on behalf of CPC, co-ordinator Tony Lawrence urged the public to use the opportunity to influence the development of policies that will benefit children.
