A 50-year-old man was caught while allegedly trying to break into a house in Rondebosch East yesterday.
Members of the Metro police property crime unit followed up after receiving information about a burglary in progress. They caught one suspect red-handed while the others managed to get away.
The suspects gained entry by breaking the lock of the garage door.
They were attempting to steal copper and wires from the premises.
The suspect was taken to the Lansdowne police station.
