Bridging brokeness

The deteriorating Alma Road bridge balustrades have been removed by a contractor.

The rebuilding of a deteriorating Alma Road bridge balustrade in Rosebank started last Thursday, January 10. Mayoral committee member for transport Felicity Purchase said a contractor had started the rebuilding of the bridge balustrades. The company’s Jaco Ferreira said it would take two months to do the job. Rosebank and Mowbray Civic Association chairman Jonathan Hobday said it was encouraging to see a crew working on the bridge and he hoped it would soon be restored.
