Matric pupil Michael Beckurts decided to help Elizabethfontein Primary School after visiting it two years earlier during the Bishops Epic – an end-of-year endurance challenge for the school’s Grade 10s.
He selected ten of his best Cederberg paintings to create professionally printed cards. All proceeds from the sale of the cards go to Elizabethfontein Primary.
Earlier this month, Michael visited the school for the opening of its first Grade R classroom – a 6m x 9m wendy house that can accommodate 27 pupils.
“Taking part in the Epic was one of the highlights of my time at Bishops, and I am extremely grateful for the support Bishops gave me to be part of the Epic,” said Michael.
Bishops principal Guy Pearson praised Michael in a newsletter to parents.
Michael has won a R30 000 bursary to study at the Cape Town Creative Academy next year.
The cards can be bought at the Bishops School Shop for R25 each.
