Groote Schuur Hospital held an interfaith service as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations last Wednesday afternoon. The event was enjoyed by all who attended, including current staff, retired staff, patients and the public. Guest speaker Stanley Henkerman, 57, who had a heart transplant 11 years ago, thanked the staff for the work they do and the difference that the hospital is making in the country – and the world. Entertainment was provided by the Groote Schuur Hospital Choir, Groote Schuur Hospital band and the AME Bethel Liturgical dancers. Members of the first Groote Schuur Hospital choir were also invited to render an item.
