The Harfield Village Association (HVA) held their sandwich drive last Saturday May 30 to support the Hanover Park-based Alcardo Andrews Foundation and the Hanover Park Cricket Club.
James Fernie, chairperson of the association, said around 15 500 sandwiches had been made over the past five Saturdays in Harfield Village to support the two Hanover Park organisations.
“Since the start of lockdown, the HVA has delivered more than R100 000 of groceries to these partners for distribution to the Hanover Park projects with help from many individual donors and organisations like Rotary Club of Claremont,” Mr Fernie said.
Several bakkie loads of fruit, toiletries and other useful goodies in addition to the sandwiches were also delivered to these organisations.
Ward 58 councillor Sharon Cottle was also present and handed over 300 face masks to the HVA.
