Micklefield School, in Rondebosch, is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its founding this year. The school ran a series of events last month to mark its opening in 1928, bringing together some familiar faces. Pupils from as far back as 1942 attended a cocktail function and exhibition of art by current pupils, there was a summer picnic and a market run by the Grade 6s, which raised R23 000 for charity, including the Volunteer Wildfire Services. The school has also published a children’s book, Micklefield Magic, written by Deborah Gildenhuys and illustrated by Wendy Paterson.
