The Off the Grid Festival, which takes place at Camphill Village on the West Coast on Saturday March 17, features music by the Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, Bootleggers Blues Band, The Steezies, Stone Jets, Radio Kalahari Orkes, The Kiffness and DJ Jake Wildheart.
Camphill Village West Coast MD James Sleigh says: “This is our fourth music festival and we are thrilled with our 2018 line-up. This year we also want to focus on making it an environmentally sustainable event, to tie in with the goals of Camphill Village. We are hoping to encourage groups to cycle to the event, and we will even have a party that walks along the west coast to the event.”
There will also be art installations, a Camphill market, kids safe zone and entertainment area, SAB tent and a variety of food stalls.
Camphill Village West Coast is home to about 95 intellectually disabled adults who also work on the farm in a dairy, bakery, cosmetics workshop and on the land. The Off the Grid Festival is a fundraising event, to help them become more sustainable.
