The Grand Exhibition, a showcase including the greater burlesque community, will take place on Saturday August 11 at Gardens
Commercial High School.
The show is a celebration of beauty, femininity and colour with over 40 burlesque dancers taking to the stage. It includes top burlesque talent, from seasoned professional solo performers to troupe numbers from Cape Town’s longest standing burlesque companies.
There will also be a burlesque market, from corsets to pasties, speciality lingerie as well as food and refreshment vendors. Following the show and live music, audiences are invited to kick off their shoes and dance until midnight to the sound of DJ Thunderbunny .
The Grand Exhibition was conceptualised by Tenille Lindeque, also known as Lady Magnolia, a Cape Town-based burlesque dancer with a passion for uniting the burlesque community for a good cause. The first Grand Exhibition events took place in Cape Town in 2015 and has raised over R106 000 for Rape Crisis over the last three years.
All proceeds of the show will again be donated to Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
Tickets cost R185 and can be bought at Quicket. There will be no sales at the door. For more information, visit https://therougerevue.co.za/grand-exhibition/
