Baroque beats

Christ Church Constantia is hosting Camerata Tinta Barocca at its monthly concert on Sunday September 4, at 3pm. The ensemble will be presenting a selection of concerti from the Baroque era, including Bach’s 5th Brandenburg concerto and the popular viola concerto by Telemann. Under the direction of Erik Dippenaar, the Camerata plays on authentic instruments, offering a sound of the 18th century. This concert features Pauline Nobes as soloist and guest leader. She is a professor of Baroque violin at the Musikhochschule in Würzburg (Germany). The other soloists are Bridget Rennie Salonenon Baroque flute; Emile de Roubaix on Baroque viola’ and Erik Dippenaar on harpsichord. Tickets cost R100.
